The Haven Guest House

Amazing hotel literally 3 minutes away from the port and most friendly staff

Nice clean and comfortable guest house. Perfect for the ferry connection. Late check in was available but booking through hotels.com I struggled to find my room when arriving late

My wife and myself stayed at the Haven the night before our ferry journey over to Ireland. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our room by the owner who was really friendly, she recommended a fab restaurant (simply street, well worth a visit, delicious food) The guest house was spotlessly clean and tidy, a lovely en suite room with a sea view. The beds could have been a little more comfortable if they had a mattress topper on them as the plastic mattress protector (essential for hospitality beds) was a little noisy and made the bed slightly uncomfortable (sweaty) … The Haven is conveniently close to the port which made our onward journey a breeze! We left too early to enjoy a breakfast, but managed to grab a McDonalds en route to the port. Should we return to Holyhead then this would most certainly be our guest house of choice.

I liked the proximity to the ferry. We left early, so, received a breakfast basket. Everything was fine, but I would have preferred if the hosts had simply offered that we could have early access the cereal etc in the common room, without having a basket prepared for us. (Also the ferry breakfast was quite good and not overpriced. )
