Hotel Alda

Noelia is a lovely hostess, she was easy to communicate with via WhatsApp and, if I had spoken Spanish, surely would have been a joy to chat more with. We did our best and still was able to get whatever I needed, including a suggestion for dinner, a place to get hiking poles, and advice on roads I had planned to ride my bike or see on foot. The bed and pillows were very much to my liking, (on the firmer side) and the room was charming. Also, since the occupancy was low, she gave me a choice between rooms which was very kind. I was very happy that she had oat milk for my coffee and parking is available right out front. Thank you, Noelia!

I am 5'8" (173cm) and had to be very careful in room #5 as part of the ceiling is vaulted and quite low, which I hit my head on several times, but that is just something for taller guests to be aware of. :) Breakfast (optional) was very simple, toast, cake, juice and coffee so before a guest requests it, be sure to ask what she is offering; there are two small stores nearby to purchase other breakfast items like meats, cheese, yogurt.

Loved the decor and details in the room, even if small. Hosts were lovely too. The tiny balcony was a delight. Would definitely stay here again. Good location for picos de Europa hikes and nice local restaurants at a walkable distance.

Breakfast could be a bit more substantial with more protein. Our room faced the road, so there were some noises as vehicles passed by early in the morning to get to the hikes etc., Recommend earplugs for light sleepers.

This property is very charming, in an old stone farmhouse that has been converted to a hotel. The rooms have the original stone walls still visible. The room I was in was small but perfect for one person with a golden retriever (pets are allowed for a nominal fee). It would have been suitable for a couple as well. The owner, Noelia, is extremely nice and very helpful. She made a point to ask her guests what they like to do and then provided lots of information about how to access it and where to go. This little hotel was centrally-located near Picos de Europa National Park. There were more than a hundred hiking trails within a half hour or less of the location - which was my reason for being there. The hotel was very clean, tidy and quiet. This is a rural location, but there were a few restaurants close by in the neighboring town - 1 km down the road. There were many more about 20 minutes away. The entire area is rural Spain at its best. Highly recommend!
