Studio 6-Barstow, CA

No utensils, roaches, flies, small refrigerator. Pool was closed entire time. Poor customer service. Very disappointed.

A basic level experience for a budget price at Barstow in the Motel 6 "Studio" variant close to the east end on Main Street. Bed was comfortable, Wi-Fi and TV worked fine. My only complaint was the lack of soap. Not sure whether this was an oversight or an intentional add-on option, but that's a new one on me. Fortunately I had some with me.

Up front receptionist Ami was the sweetest :)

Dead coach roach and smoke smell. The staff was very kind, though. The motel as a whole was just kind of gross, but for $50 a night it wasn’t that bad. I won’t come back, though.

The room was set up well and I appreciated the kitchen.

I overslept the checkout time and didn’t get a knock on my door until an hour after the checkout time. The hotel only takes a cash deposit and when I went to the front desk to turn in the key and get the deposit, there was a sign on the door saying the employee went to lunch. I went to grab some breakfast and when I returned to the hotel, the same girl who knocked on my door at noon was working the front desk. She then told me that since I overslept that there would be a fee. I tried explaining to her that no one knocked on my door for the normal checkout time, and she proceeded to tell me that it is my responsibility to check out at the correct time and took $10 of the original $60 deposit. I also asked for a downstairs room since I had two dogs and a car full of stuff, and was told when I checked in that there were no more bottom floors available and instead was given a top floor room where the view of my car was blocked by a tree. After walking around the hotel. I noticed that there were many bottom rooms that were not occupied and am not sure why this happened.

Can always appreciate this motel 6. Especially nowadays. Excellent job👍👍
