There was a dirty towel left in bathroom. The room was also not ready upon arrival and there was a window that was not closable due to a broken crank.

"Nice alternative to the chain hotels in MI City"

8.0

Nice, small hotel with attached supper club. We had to wait several minutes for the front desk clerk to return to the front desk to check us in. In the process of updating. Our room was nice and clean with a comfortable bed, but the he bathroom could have used some love. Pretty grounds with walking paths, but quite close to the freeway, so there is always noticeable noice. Didn’t bother us, but people in the room above us sounded like they were taking tap dancing lessons literally all night, we’ll request 2nd floor room If we ever return.

I loved being away from other hotels and businesses. I loved the feel of a lodge , being in a wooded area where the workers pitch in and help in different areas, like a small community. The restaurant was wonderful, the staff was wonderful. My only complaint would be the noise. You could hear everything above you and outside the room.

The property itself looks nice but is right alongside I94, thus you can hear the cars very loudly. The vicinity of such a highway does not lend itself to silence for this property. Additionally, the rooms are a bit worn down particularly given the high price they charge per night (around $250 with taxes incl). Also, if you want to check-in let’s say 1 hour earlier (f ex 2pm instead of 3pm official time for check-in, you have to pay $15 extra for every additional hour you arrive early. Never in my life did a hotel charge me $15 extra for arriving one hour earlier - at 2pm instead of 3pm… So, yes, it is a boutique hotel but it does not carry the luxury that goes hand in hand with a boutique hotel. The rooms are not worth $250 per night but rather $150 per night I would estimate. Bottom line, the hotel is overpriced and overrated.
