The immersion in the rainforest with a beautiful view overlooking the valley and surrounding mountains - owing to it’s elevation the temperature was ideal

Exceptionally helpful. They met us in town to take us up, gave us a tour of the property, and made sure we planned our activities with reputable companies. Excellent!

Superbe maison !

"Authentic Rainforest Experience"

8.0

Light of Dawn is a very special place - literally in the middle of the rainforest. If you are looking for an easily accessible, creature comfort stay, this is not the place for you, but if you want to wake up in the middle of spectacular tropical biodiversity AND if you have a 4WD vehicle, I would highly recommend it. Pete and Deborah were really wonderful hosts - they arranged several local tours for us (kayaking, canopy zipline, and guided tour of Manuel Antonio) and Pete gave us a half-day tour of their property with a chance to swim in a waterfall. The setting is idyllic. Getting there is a challenge, however - it really does take 45-60 min to drive there from Quepos on a treacherous, unpaved road. I wouldn't recommend this location if you are planning lots of activities in/around Quepos each day and don't try it in a vehicle with low clearance. We stayed in their charming, rustic cabin (no AC, but decent kitchen and laundry facilities) and enjoyed spectacular sunrises from the patio and hikes on the property. It's not easy to keep an open-air cabin spotless in the rainforest, and the WiFi wasn't reliable, but what it lacked in cleanliness and condition, it made up for in proximity to nature and access to an authentic Costa Rican rainforest - an experience we will never forget.
