"Cannot recommend this place at all"

2.0

There were many unsatisfactory aspects to our stay: - Parking was challenging (street parking only) - Although we provided a precise arrival time and were on time, we had to call the owner and then wait 15 minutes in the heat on the sidewalk for them to come to guide us to the property - The room was clean but very uncomfortable due to the many air fresheners that made the room smell awful. As it was in a stone dwelling it was damp - At times the plumbing made loud banging sounds - Breakfast was just a coffee and a single pastry at a place a few blocks away - Our Hotels.com booking said bathrobes but there were none - On our first day we could not connect to the wifi as all that was provided was a booster (to an unsecured service) that rarely worked (the stone walls were probably too thick to rely on a booster). Eventually (after several calls and messages) we were given the secured wifi but the password was sent by SMS and only part of it came through. It took more calls and messages to get that sorted out. Why the password was not written down and left in the room was a mystery. And why they always wanted to blame us for the problems was annoying. Plus, we told them on the phone we would be out and for dinner then got messages complaining we were not there when they tried to come by about the wifi. Part of the problem was that we don’t speak Italian and the owners speak very little English. Had we known that we would not have booked here.
