Greatly overrated. Nice owner, but the comfort is not there. Many deficiencies, like a small bath, low shower, and the shower in bad condition. Smoke detector beeping every 1 minute, and disturbing during the night. Overall - highly overrated, not more than 3.5 for me.

Amasra is a beautiful place to spend a few days, and a great base to visit surrounding towns and historic sites. I highly recommend a day trip to Safranbolu. The room is very centrally located right above the main bazaar in the historic part of Amasra. You can see part of the ancient city wall from the balcony. Local produce makers and a fabulous bakery is just metres from the front door. We were made feel very welcome by Sefer and the local shop owners. There is paid parking right next door, you will need to reserve a space. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed and pillows comfortable. There is a fridge and kettle in the room.

The bazaar can be busy and noisy until midnight, particularly on weekends. If you are a light sleeper you may want to bring earplugs. It was really difficult to adjust the temperature of the shower, it was either very hot or cold.
