One-of-a-kind can be an overuzed term but truly applies here.

Building is not structurally sound, wouldn't stay here if there were strong winds in the forecast

Beji was really helpful and organized everything we needed. In a few minutes we had a scooter, a surfboard and a transport to Jakarta. The Villa is extraordinary. The view is amazing and you have a lot of space to chill out. If you search for something special this is perfect.

You have to know that the place is in the nature so not everything is clean and there live also some animals with you (like geckos, spiders, ants etc).

Hallucinatory architecture and extravagant levels of comfort, at least for the price and in that location. Suspended bridges, Afghan rugs in the "India room", stained glass windows, huge room with sofas and hardwood floors, art everywhere, turrets with panoramic views. Clearly a very personal creation. Just looking at the place was an experience. Good hikes, beautiful surroundings, and in daytime at least a few decent warungs in the neighboring villages.

A bit isolated; can't be helped, but it's hard even to get an ojek in the neighborhood, and quite a climb up the hill. After sunset the only food options are a few km away in Cisolok a few km away.

A bit rundown tree house-like cabin plus bathroom and veranda, in the middle of the woods. Clearly the superb facility none other accommodations can offer is the bird's eye view from the veranda, bedroom, even from the toilet window! Absolutely relaxing sitting at the breezy spacious veranda overlooking the beachshore, hearing the sound of blown leaves, crickets, ducks, chickens, all the nature you'd miss getting if you live in city. Walking down to the beach is an easy job. Walking back up takes a strong stamina due to steep ca 200 meter distance. Fresh and shady during the day, very dark during the night. Do not expect fancy clean atmosphere as in photos. However, hot water/shower works, AC works, comfy bed, extremely simple fried rice for breakfast. Value for money. Helpful assistant. Recommended for back to nature-kind of staycation
