Hotel Il Mulino B&B

The building is beautiful. The rooms are housed in an old mill, which still has a moving water wheel. The rooms are all uniquely decorated and very nice. Food is available on site, I am not sure if it is a restaurant or only for guests but there is a small dinner service (daily offerings of 2 to 4 dishes) and a bar (coffee, spirits). The food and drinks were excellent. The rooms are very big and comfortable.

Beware that the staff only speak Italian - obviously you're in Italy but it may be difficult to communicate if you have no or very limited Italian language skills. The breakfast is continental and Italian "dolce" i.e., no warm food e.g., eggs or sausage, and very sweet e.g., cakes, cornetto filled with jam.

We absolutely loved Il Mulino. The building has been very well restored and the location is very rural and peaceful, although it’s not far from the Milan ring road. Our room was quite spacious, simply but comfortably furnished and had a nice shower room. We ate in the restaurant and had an excellent meal - all good local stuff, very simple but beautifully cooked and excellent value. Breakfast was very good too. The lady who owns the place was very friendly, as was her assistant. All the rooms are fitted with bug screens, and there’s air-con, so no problems with insects (although I’d recommend insect-repellent if you want to eat outside (it’s a water mill after all). Il Mulino is excellent value, especially as the price includes parking. We’d definitely recommend it and hope to stay again.

Having to leave! The only fault is that there were no bed-side lights.
