Sol Miranda Hotel

My wife and I are 60-year-old semiretired professionals. We stayed at this hotel and were extremely pleased with the staff, location and amenities. This hotel has everything we needed including location, grade accommodation, good breakfast and ready access to everything we were interested in. Staff were wonderful and were very kind in spite of her very limited knowledge of Spanish. Our room on the top floor was a suite which overlooked the mountains and was absolutely beautiful. We also stayed in another room on the third floor which also had a great view Breakfast was included which was basic but more than adequate for our needs. Facilities were exemplary bearing in mind that Ollantaytambo is a bit off the beaten track. If you are expecting a five-star suite at the Ritz Carlton, you are not going to find it in this location. On the other hand, if you are thinking of using this as a staging for your trip to Machu Picchu, you could not pick a better location. The train runs right through Ollantaytambo and is a 15 minute walk from a hotel. The marvelous archaeological site in the city is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is also very close to the town square which was a very interesting place to spend time. While we were there, a local festival was on which was fascinating and the locals were more than happy to share the experience.

We enjoyed a restful time at Sol Miranda. Enjoyed the breakfast, all day tea and the supply of drinking water. Suited our needs - clean, good value, safe and quiet.

Great place, super service, they were very helpful with organizing tours, sightseeing, trip back to Cusco. Strongly recommended.

Awesome view from our room. Great location on Main Street & friendly staff. Bathroom needs an upgrade but it was clean. Did not eat at hotel so no comments there. I paid 95$usd for room but I heard other guest paid 55$, front desk said it’s because we had ma superior room with view. Still satisfied of our stay at Sol Miranda in Ollantaytambo

The Sol Miranda Hotel is a clean, cheap, and cheerful hotel with a wonderfully caring staff set between the breathtaking ruins of Ollantaytambo, Pinkuylluna, and the ancient Ollantaytambo District. The city itself has a charm of a town that hasn't quite been developed and overrun by tourists but that also means you'll see the juxtaposition of a brand new town square next to worn, weathered, and sometimes abandoned houses. The hotel is a oasis in the city. It's centrally located and about 15-20 minutes walk to anywhere you'd want to go in the city. The great location also means some noise along the road which dies down in the evenings. The Sol Miranda isn't a 5 star boutique luxury hotel but it's a high quality and a great place to rest on your Peruvian adventures.

Great location, we had a room with amazing views of the Ollantaytambo ruins. Staff were very helpful and made us up a breakfast bag for our early start to Machu Picchu.

Staff was nice. Room was clean. Bed was very comfortable. Toilet flush didn’t work well. Shower serious leaking.

Everyone on the staff was very helpful and friendly. Great communication about the stay and travel arrangements to and from Cusco. The location is nice for a visit to Machu Picchu. Ollantaytambo is charming and worth a day on its own. The one downside was the noise. The town has trucks, cars and motorcycle taxis running all the time. Lots of horn honking.
