MainStay Suites El Centro I-8

We did an early check in then left for a wedding when we got back approx 9:30 or so there were alot of people partying in the lobby area of the 2nd building. A drunk came up to us and said I wasn't pushing the elevator button correctly...we get to our room directly over the drums of a life band that we were then told would be playing from 10pm to 2am...meanwhile they are testing their instruments. We were then moved to the main lobby building to a new room no kitchen smaller than the one we booked. My husband goes in to shower and the tub has water 3/4 filled. By moving to the new room we no longer heard the music and party goers. During the night my husb was then bite on the ankle my unknown bug...we never got an apology for having to move rooms that late at night nor a discount at least for the room size. (The other party in a different room move over as well).

Breakfast was less than expected

The building shows its age. The room smelled of bleach when we first checked in but that is understandible concerning todays Covid cleaning requirements. Overall the room was clean, comfortable and quiet. I would stay there again.

I really wanted to like this property however we found a huge roach in the bathroom. We where moved to another room but by then we just didn't feel comfortable.

We booked our stay days in advance. We were never informed that we would be forced to have to listen to live, loud music (if one could call the awful sounds music) until midnight. We were only given an option of 2 rooms available. If we had known this beforehand, we never would have booked there. We called front desk to complain, get a refund, anything! They said they'd call us back but never did. Tried calling numerous times again but staff must have been instructed to shut off phones as all we got were busy signals. Crappy management. Horrible experience. And, in my opinion, the hotel smells really bad. Sort of like a chemical smell over urine smell. Just my opinion. I personally appreciate real reviews and not those glowing reviews that may come from management themselves. Who knows these days? Never will we stay here again.

The beds where comfortable but the cleanliness could be better. Even updated a little. Our AC broke a d the staff immediately sent a handy man who was polite. He had mentioned that we needed to be moved to another room. The other room was comfortable as well. It’s a ok stay just needs some cleaning and updating.

Generally clean and presentable. Housekeeping missed a couple sharp pebbles with their vacuum. Those hurt like the devil when I stepped on them.

It was a nice room. Loved the fact it had a couch.

Mainstay Suites in El Centro was an unexpected pleasure. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was bigger than I expected and more reminiscent of a junior suite at a timeshare. Our stay was on New Year's eve and was nice that Mainstay has an onsite bar. There was even a free New Year's Eve party in the courtyard. In the morning, the free continental breakfast included not only the usual fare of coffee, juice and pastries, but also had breakfast sandwiches, Belgian waffles, hard boiled eggs and yogurt. Good deal even for the Friday night and holiday weekend rate of $139. Will be coming back for a 2 night weekday rate in the near future.

Amazing, it was spacious & so comfortable. It’s exactly how it’s pictured. We stayed for 4 nights & every night was wonderful & it’s conveniently located around a lot of places to eat. We also were able to make dinner in the room because of the kitchenette.
