"Chillin at Applesauce Inn "

10.0

Very comfortable, out of the craziness of the other tourist towns in the area. And OH, the gourmet breakfast, WOW!

Just a lovely B&B run by a great couple. Great breakfasts using eggs from their own chickens! Rooms are great - large and nicely decorated. Outside, the setting is quite serene. Very relaxing. We look forward to our next stay.

We would highly recommend the Applesauce B&B to anyone looking for a A accommodation. The personal touches provided by Jaime make it stay you will never forget. We will be staying @ the Applesauce anytime we visit the Traverse City area.

"Extra $ if you use a third party to book"

6.0

My wife and I recently stayed at The Applesauce Inn B&B for two nights. The Pros - Our hostess, Jamie was very nice and knowledgeable of the area in regards to restaurants and things to do. She is an excellent cook and does a wonderful job with meal presentation. The Cons - Two of the three rooms face the highway. While it’s not super busy, the traffic noise cost us quite a bit of sleep. There are window air conditioners that allow the noise to come through. Bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. Their website indicates that they offer a glass of wine and dessert every afternoon for their guests. Their site even offers that this is a guest favorite. Upon arrival, Jamie said that they are not offering it due to the pandemic. Well if you’re hosting breakfast, what is the difference? At the very least, take the claim off your website and Hotels.com as this also played in to why we booked there. My biggest complaint is that they charged us over 15% more ($445 vs. $385 after tax) because we booked through Hotels.com versus directly through their site. It seems obvious to me that they pass on the third party cost to their guests. The problem with this is that we wouldn’t even know that The Applesauce Inn existed if not for Hotels.com. I’ve never seen this done before and it didn’t sit well with us. Between the extra charges and the canceled afternoon social, we feel that we were taken advantage of. Therefore, we would never consider staying there again
