Amora Lagoon Hotel

I stayed at Amora lagoon hotel for 4 nights in a quite spacious double room with good aircon. The room was very clean. The best thing about Amora lagoon hotel is their staff. They are so friendly and helpful and efficient. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially if you have business to attend to in the Katunayaka and surrounding areas.

Great hotel, with wonderful service on a beautiful beach. Who could ask for more? Scuba diving was also great.

We arrived very early in the morning, so the hotel was great because it is close to the airport. The staff are very helpful and friendly. the room was very clean.

At night, the light went on by itself.

Staff behavior was good...location very close to airport...view of lagoon is good...rooms clean .

Pool was closed for cleaning and it wasn't pre informed...limited option in buffet breakfast especially for vegetarian...

Staff helpfull and fast

We got the most fare room, in More the hotel was empty !, we don't understand why we need to walk so fare. We never asked for a quite room during the booking. Our room was with cery heavy cigarettes smell !!! Not easy to sleep with that smell.

The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was fine. Internet was fine. Short ride to airport. Loved the shower! The architecture of the buildings is modern and enjoyable.

Upon arrival, there was an outdoor party going on. (Congrats to them!) The music was so very loud that I could not even communicate with the front desk, face to face. The swimming pool was unavailable as it is right next to the front desk and the party was right there as well. So my relaxing afternoon following a long drive from Trincomalee? Gone. The party did end a few hours later. I decided to order room service. No menu in room. In fact, no literature in the room at all. I went to ask the front desk for a menu. No such thing! You must walk to the bar, use the menu at the bar, and only then will the food be brought to your room. THAT IS NOT ROOM SERVICE. Getting super picky - no door handle on balcony door. - went out to sit and when time to go back in, I had to dig in the frame with my fingers to open the door. Airport shuttle was easy but double the price of what Booking.com offered. In fairness, hoping for a relaxing day after car ride, with long flights ahead of me, was a disaster as soon as I arrived. The party going on put me in a sour mood that was aggravated by the little things that kept adding up.

I got there late after noon and was able to have a meal from the restaurant prepared which was delicious !The bathroom needed painting and the mattress on bed was not comfortable. Also kettle was broken. Otherwise room was very nice and clean and the staff were just wonderful!
