Hunters Rest Inn

Great staff, confy bed, good breakfast.

Hands down one of the best most friendly places I've stayed at. On arrival the staff were very helpful showing us to our room. The room was immaculate and very beautiful with a four poster bed, free standing bath and a sitting room with balcony. The Inn itself ws surprisingly busy considering it is in the middle of know where but we couldn't fault the atmosphere. The food was proper hearty grub and the staff were excellent. Breakfast in the morning was pretty amazing too and the chef was very chatty and friendly. I honestly can't say a bad word about the place. We ate well, slept like logs and were made to feel very comfortable. We will definitely stay again in future

Really friendly staff. Comfortable room. Homely pub with good beers and log fires. Excellent breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay.

Difficult to get a taxi as was away from it all.

A bit light for the amount charged, more options would have been better. The roll top bath might look good but is like being smothered in a wet rag when you are trying to shower, the shower curtain does not work. A separate shower and bath would have been a much better for the 'suite'

It felt like I was a nuisance to them when I arrived, not a warm welcome. I ordered a soup which was soooo salty and not a pleasant taste.

Great Staff and hospitality

Quiet location. Clean, fresh bedding and comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent breakfast; a selection of everything you could want, good quality produce cooked to order. Friendly staff and great value for money.

Room decor a little outdated but probably in keeping with the 'Hunting' theme. However, the things that made it a great overnight stay are detailed in the question above.
