The hotel is in an ideal location to walk to the main cultural sights in Kandy. The hotel is dated but the room itself was spacious and mostly clean although the desk was sticky. It's a decent 3-4* hotel mostly thanks to the location.

The desk was sticky and one of the blinds was broken leaving a gap through which anyone walking in the hall could see inside the room. I also had asked for a quiet room and was placed next to the service elevator. I left the "do not disturb" on when I left the room to run an errand in the late afternoon and when I came back, the sign was off and the hotel staff had entered the room for turndown service. Turndown service should not be given priority over the guest's wish for privacy, even if we do leave the room - I travel extensively and have never had a hotel disregard the do not disturb sign. Also, the staff in the dining room kept insisting to get my room number even though I was not eating breakfast and was only walking through (which you have to do to get from the elevator to the lobby and exit). It felt very pushy and was unwarranted.
