Vrede en Lust Wine Estate

We did a horse riding trek through the vineyard and up into the national park- foothills of the mountain. Our guide was very friendly and the horses, rhino, tash, zahara were all perfect for us.,it was a very lovely experience and we’d come back again.

A fabulous end to a lovely day in Franschoek on the wine tram. Wonderful bespoke wine tasting and cellar tour hosted brilliantly by the incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic Jade. Some absolutely lovely reds which we took a few with us. Cheers

What a lovely stay and a perfect service offered to us, we have come far to enjoy and have a wonderful time, we came from Johannesburg just to have a relaxed and wonderful weekend. Thanks to the staff that managed to meet our demands and give us possible help at all time

A bit of a hidden gem being located beside a busy road junction. Don’t let this put you off Ate breakfast here on 3 occasions and would highly recommend The menu is very comprehensive allowing a good choice. Great combination of friendly staff and excellent food,

Couples evening at the Savoye restaurant on Vrede en Lust wine estate was a pleasant suprise. Excellent cuisine, beautiful setting and tasteful decor. Value for money. Good sevice. Most enjoyable evening.

A nice location (on the Wine Tram) serving some excellent wines in a large dining area. It was pretty quiet when we visited so lacked atmosphere. We liked the LUST Bistro & Bakery, which served up some decent cakes too.

To any prospecting couple looking to get married at Vrede En Lust...You absolutely HAVE to! The team at VNL exceeded every single expectation we could have ever had. The service was the best service I have ever experienced at a restaurant or hotel, let alone at a wedding with 125 guests! And they maintained this unbelievable service across all 3 days. The waiters and waitresses went above and beyond for each and every guest and 50+ guests commented to us how unbelievable the staff were. Particularly Vee, Cedrick and Ed! They were exceptional and we are blown away by them and the entire team! The food was also absolutely incredible - so many people said that it was the best wedding food they have ever had and couldn't get over how delicious the ravioli was and how perfectly cooked all of the steaks were. Several people said that their favourite meal of their entire 2 week holiday in Cape Town, was our wedding food! Having postponed our wedding twice due to the pandemic, we had extremely high hopes and dreams of what our day would FINALLY end up being...and the Vrede En Lust team, surpassed it in every single way. They run such a slick operation and had thought of everything. They were so accommodating and polite and never made us feel like any ask was an inconvenience or not possible. Thank you so much to the Vrede En Lust team - we feel incredibly lucky and grateful to all of you!

The wines here were some of the best we tasted all day and the staff were very knowledgeable about the wines. I loved the tasting room where we got to sit on a comfy couch and enjoy the spectacular view. There is an adjacent restaurant but we did not try it.

Amazing time at Savoye of Vrede en Lust. Not only was the menu exceptional but the service by Lydia was unmatched!! Lydia was attentive and had a wonderful sense of humour. Shout out to the exceptional Rosè (Jess), paired with tasteful tapas. Highly recommend to anyone spending time in the Franschhoek area.

We were visiting for a Family Wedding and used the accommodation, function facilities pool bar and restaurants. All the staff were lovely. Thank you to the whole team, particularly Maritsa for such attentive service. Stunning location - a must visit!
