"Great boutique hotel experience in the heart of downtown Portland."

10.0

Great location, within walking distance of shopping, theater & nightlife. Two restaurants and a basement speakeasy, friendly & helpful staff.

Some of the rooms are very small.

"Great stay in Portland"

9.0

Great decor, extremely comfortable beds- great showers and ample space for 3 people. We stayed at a corner room and the view was beautiful. Great service and attention from the staff and the hotel has plenty of amenities for a comfortable stay.

Property is great - however be ready for the homeless shock around the area

"A new old town favorite."

8.0

The staff were wonderful, and the view was great. It was cozy, but not suffocating. The bedding, soaps, etc were all very nice. The low cost breakfast bag was lovely, and the free drinks in the fridge was great! It is right downtown in old town and just a shirt 3 minute walk from Roseland Theater. There's three different places in the hotel for food, we only tried the brunch location which had an hour wait (so deff reserve a table in advance!) but was still delicious.

The our room had a rug that was falling apart, which left debris on all of our stuff. The bathrooms have doors, but no fans, so the room gets pretty humid and it takes awhile for it to cool down again. The parking is NOT on site, they have a valet service that parks your car in a public lot down the street.

"Hope to Be Back!"

10.0

tdlr; Highly recommend! 10/10 hospitality. Everyone is very friendly, always willing to help, courteous. Very pretty physical space. Great food at The Panama Great coffee at Deadstock Room was a king and it was cozy with modern touches. Loved that I could open the window for fresh air. Bed was very comfty. Complimentary water cans, coffee/tea bags, even milk - can replenish as well (all complimentary) At check-in, you can choose between a White Claw or a Caprisun which I found cute. Didn't get to visit the rooftop but I'm sure it's very nice. Public transit was easy to navigate with Google Maps and very accessible. In terms of safety, it's downtown so there are homeless people but never had any issues / never felt "unsafe" - I'm a petite short Asian woman who traveled solo for context. My experience was great! Happy and thankful a hotel like The Hoxton exists.

"Top Service"

10.0

I had an issue come up with my family, and I really needed assistance with some details of my reservation. In a world where it’s hard to find humans to help with human problems, Ed stepped up and helped me, working with me to figure out a solution quickly and kindly. If you’re not sure where the best service in Portland is, it’s The Hoxton. 10/10.

"Great stay in central Portland"

8.0

Great location, easy to get around. Portland downtown has its challenges and that’s not this hotel’s responsibility. Just be mindful of your surroundings when coming and going. The hotel itself is great, the staff are helpful, and both the lobby restaurant and rooftop bar are great spots. My room was clean and comfortable and well appointed.

"Cool vibe and excellent service"

10.0

I had the pleasure of staying at The Hoxton last week while passing through Portland on business, and I genuinely enjoyed the experience. The vibe of the hotel and the history of the building really stood out, but what made the biggest impression was the people. You can definitely tell this is a UK-based hospitality group because they do the little things exceptionally well. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about the guest experience. The front desk team in particular was outstanding, especially Ed, James, and Sam. All three went out of their way to make me feel at home, answer questions, and be supportive throughout my stay. What impressed me even more was watching them provide that same level of service to other guests as well. The food was also excellent. I ended up trying a really unique Vietnamese-American inspired breakfast in the restaurant that was fantastic and easily one of the highlights of the stay. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, but honestly, you are probably not spending much time there anyway, and the price was a really good value for what you get. The bathroom was full-sized with excellent water pressure, quality shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer, plus plenty of towels. The bed was also extremely comfortable. Overall, just a great place with a lot of character, excellent people, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’m already looking forward to staying there again the next time I’m in Portland.

"Really cool place"

10.0

We loved our stay at the Hoxton. It is such a charming place with handsome decor, with a good bit of whimsy. We loved the art, and I love the decor choices. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room was very tasteful, though it was a bit on the small side. The location is very convenient. We didn't wind up taking advantage of the food and beverage options on site. I was very impressed with the quality and the reviews; it was definitely elevated over typical hotel offerings. There was a speakeasy that wasn't open while we were there, and a really awesome sneaker-head-meets-coffee-snob coffee shop that we didn't take advantage of just because we were up earlier. There was also a Filipino restaurant that had great reviews, but it opened for brunch a bit later than we needed, so we couldn't take advantage of them. They all looked very solid. The overall experience was really great.

"Moldy shower"

4.0

This property was almost awesome, great restaurants, great location, cool vibes, so I’m sad to only be able to give it 2 stars because the house keeping was just not acceptable. Our first night we arrived very late and realized there was no sheets just the comforter and mattress cover. We were exhausted so we just slept on the comforter and then let the front desk know in the morning, when we arrived back to the room in the evening there were still no sheets so we had to ask twice and they delivered a sheet at the door. Honestly, it would’ve been really nice to come back to a made bed instead of us making it up ourselves after asking twice. And then the shower was really dirty. The shower walls had clearly not been scrubbed in a very long time. But with the black grout it’s definitely not as obvious until it’s wet, I noticed after bumping into the wall, first the slime and then the black mold pieces on my arm and shoulder. I’m not a huge confrontation person and after having to ask multiple times for sheets I just wanted to check out and go home.
