Inn the Woods Bed and Breakfast

Excellent room and amenities! Our host was friendly and helpful, not to mention a great cook! The inn is very close to the FDR home and museum, and the town of Hyde Park. There are several good restaurants there for dinner. We highly recommend a stay here.

This was an absolutely splendid experience. The room was spacious, comfortable, and full of windows and light that looked out towards a bucolic stream on one side and beautiful trees and woods on the other. The host served superb and delicious breakfasts each morning in a charming room with a fireplace that looked out at the bird feeders (that attracted a variety of colorful birds). The location is extremely convenient to everything there is to do in the area (FDR museum, Val Kill, Vanderbilt mansion, nature trails, etc.). An absolute gem. Highly recommended.

Food excellent. Room clean, quiet, comfortable, and nicely appointed. Felt like an escape into the tranquility of nature and yet very convenient to drive to nearby historic sites quickly. We had a wonderful trip! Thank you, Valerie and Harry.

We visited in early April and had an absolutely delightful stay in the Tree Top Suite. Although the trees were not yet in full leaf, there was a great sense of retreating into the woods. The suite had huge windows with light and views (and retractable shades) on all sides. Generally quiet except for the natural sounds of the nearby creek, the peeper frogs at night and the birds at daybreak. Each morning Harry greeted us in the dining room with a deliciously prepared breakfast of mostly locally sourced ingredients. After days spent exploring nearby Gilded Age mansions and other Hudson Valley attractions, we enjoyed restorative sleep in the king bed, which was outfitted with good linens and comfy pillows. There were many other thoughtful amenities in the large, scrupulously clean suite. Inn the Woods was a great find and a great value. We will definitely be returning!

This home offers two attached but private rooms. The owners are accessible but happy to remain in their own space if you don't need them. Breakfast is a fixed menu that changes each day. The facility is nice, comfortable, and clean. The location is woodsy but is easily accessed off the main road paralleling the Hudson River.

We had a really lovely time at the Inn the Woods B and B and would be very happy to return. the Inn is charming, well-located and the breakfasts and lovingly cooked and served. Overall, very nice stay.
