We've stayed twice at the Clarence now, and will definitely be back. It's a lovely hotel, charming, well designed, and with great sized rooms. The restaurant/bar is a lovely place to kick back with a book or meet with friends.

Cafe wasn't open for breakfast on weekends, but there are plenty of options that are walkable, or a short drive away.

"Nice, but there are better places in Tauranga for $200/night"

The room was nicely decorated and put together, the lighting was great and the bathroom was lovely. The bed was comfortable and the noise that people usually complain about is quite muffled so we had no issues.

The TV was slightly blocked by a pole, the snacks and drinks in the room were not free - something that was not disclosed. The bathroom toilet made me feel like I was going to fall in.
