Orelia Cretan Deluxe Apartments

Super ruhig mit toller Aussicht.

Außergewöhnliche Lage mit traumhaftem Blick auf Meer und Gebirge, wunderschöne Anlage mit mehreren separaten Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten in Ferienhäusern/-wohnungen, jeweils mit Terrasse/Balkon, sehr großer Pool und extra Kinderpool, großer Grillplatz, viel Grün. Die offiziellen Fotos geben das sehr zurückhaltend wieder. Für uns viel schöner als erwartet. Äußerst sympathische und aufmerksame Gastgeberin, super Service, regelmäßige Zwischenreinigung. Der herrliche Strand der Kommos Bucht ist mit dem Auto von hier aus gut zu erreichen, ebenso die schönen umliegenden Orte mit sehr guten Restaurants (Kentrikon!), Cafés/Bars und sonstiger Infrastruktur wie Kamilari, Sivas, Pitsidia, Kalamaki … und auch Matala. Wandermöglichkeiten sowie Festos, Gortys und das Gebirge sind nicht weit.

We were the first booking for the season, so felt like we had a the whole place to ourselves. The property, and our villa, were incredible and the views out to the ocean were amazing. Loved our villa and was perfect size for our family. Appreciated the fresh fruit. Our host was there to greet us and communication throughout our entire stay was excellent. The property is beautiful, and it felt so relaxing to enjoy the sun in the Cretan hillside. Only wished we stayed longer!

You have to drive to get anything. I was surprised there was no bar area even just for a few hours of an evening

The property is situated on a hill with a stunning view of the sea and the mountains, conceived as a small village with several houses made of stone and a central courtyard with a swimming pool. The apartment we occupied was nice and clean with all the needed utensils to cook. The host was very nice in guiding us to the next village to buy groceries, and in indicating a very good fish restaurant on the beach (Taverna Aristodimos). Festos palace is 15 minutes away (11 Km) and that was the principal reason we made the trip (it is better to go in the afternoon, but not to late, in lack of visitors they close earlier). A few kilometers away is the Kalamaki beach, by strong winds impossible to swim because there are some stones and you can get hurt.

Arriving we experienced some difficulty in finding the location, as Google maps did not recognize the address given on Booking. The property is accessible on a dirt road not very good. We could not enjoy the site and the place due to very strong winds all our stay. Even if our apartment came with a private pool, it was not usable, being uncleaned. The access to the apartment was made by a big set of exterior steps witch by not choosing a unit with private pool we could have avoided. As we arrived late, we drove to buy groceries next morning. There were fruits and water (and Raki) in the apartment, but not a snack or something to eat due to the remote location. Due to the wind, there were hauling sounds, and we had to let all the doors inside open and even with all widows closed you could still hear the wind.
