Friendly welcome , booking system not working but the lovely lady fired up her laptop. Great room No 2 very spacious . Loved the window seat ! X

No lift access, no parking onside but a public carpark within a short walking distance was convenient

The staff were helpful and the location next to Bute park is wonderful. The food in the pub downstairs was really good as well.

I booked it last minute so I understand that they didnt have time to dust some things off but I wish they told me to wait while they prepared the room. It was incredibly dusty with a visible coating on most things including the mugs. I have a small allergy to dust that doesnt turn up most of the time but involves a swollen itchy nose and throat that made it near impossible to sleep. It also had a slightly industrial smell, maybe paint or wallpaper glue that would not go away even with hours of the window being open. To be fair to the staff I did not mention these problems to them because I originally brushed it off in the early evening and struggled with it after the staff left for the night. I rate this low though because I wish that I was warned before booking. Essentially I regretted the stay particularly because it was more expensive than the other options that I wad looking at but allowed for a sleepless night.

Room was fine, the cushions outnumbered the pillows which was odd, and there was a section of the wallpaper which I didn't mind but some people would get funny about in the future possibly. I found the staff exactly as I would hope, generous and welcoming. I had a breakfast which was sourced and not 'standard' and thoroughly enjoyed it too.

The room was really nicely decorated apart from the carpet. As from the photos it felt like a nice place. Tea and coffee in the room great. Great water pressure, lovely neighbourhood though on a busy road but I booked that so no complaints and the windows were well insulated for sound.

The carpet obviously had been chosen because it conceals stains well but it looked dirty, even if it possibly was clean. The coffee machine in the room was not cleaned well. The tea quality was ok. The staff was not friendly enough and the wifi was a disaster and the staff had no idea how to help. The lingering smell of beer at reception should have been expected as it is a pub but it totally put me off. The place just did not feel happy. Shower tray had black mould. Different fittings were loose or badly fixed.
