"Excellent"

8.0

The host is great - nothing too much trouble ,,, good food,,, Wifi is very limited - they have one router and it is hit and miss as to whether it works.... no TV ... cold showers.... basic ... but if you like cheap and cheerful it's a great place... secluded, peaceful and a great place if you are on a budget.

"Okay if you can ever find it"

4.0

The Lodge is not signed, and even locals don't know where it is. Google Maps identifies it, but no way to get there. The manager is out-of-the-country, and it took several calls to get a response, after which he gave us number for a local assistant who spoke no English. Fortunately, our driver was able to communicate and the guy met us at a local landmark and road in our car to direct us down a narrow dirt road to a locked gate with no sign. Then he insisted we call his manager to report hotels.com pre-payment. The place itself was typical budget African local hotel with nice garden setting, just OK, but the low price may not be worth the hassle of getting there and absence of usable reception. It killed 2 hours of our short getaway to Marangu.
