Zzzone Boutique Hostel

The place was modern, clean, comfortable. The kitchen was spacious and all stainless steel (similar to a restaurant). Large seating area inside, as well as a big terrace with grill/braai. Shared bathroom/shower were very good (especially for a hostel). Just a 2 minute walk to Gearing's Point.

The only negative would be ventilation. During the day, the inside of the hostel would get quite warm, and it would stay warm, even though the temperature had cooled down outside.

Very clean and the facility is like new. Checkin was great (Ms. van Straaten) and the people are efficient and friendly. Bathrooms are very clean and located very close to the rooms. Rooms are not small.

A Facility detail…. The high Temperature was 83 degrees, and the rooms felt it. The fan helped a little. At 9pm, it was 73 degrees and the rooms were still a bit warm. I tried opening the door to the hallway but it made it warmer. We moved the twin beds to the center of the room under the fan….this definitely helped but still not cool. If this was my place, I would be looking to see if an increase in air flow could be achieved (maybe by using fans in the hallways, keeping the two double doors open, bigger windows, etc.). I am sure a better ceiling fan and/or portable floor fan would help. Maybe wall mounted fans in front of the small window openings, too. A housekeeping detail… One last Odd Thing…At 8:25am, my friend leaves to take a shower. At 8:28am, a female housekeeper, in an all black uniform, unlocks door with a key and enters my room, without knocking….Sees me in room and immediately closes door and walks quickly down hallway to bath area. Check out was 11am so there was no reason for this to happen. To help housekeepers, Maybe add some do not disturb door hanger signage.

Top Lage und große Zimmer, super Restaurant direkt unten. Mann darf dem Pool von dazugehörigen Hotel mit nutzen. Obwohl es ein Hostel ist war es sehr ruhig und super sauber.

Great hostel! Good location right by the square, nice room, clean bathrooms and an amazing shower!!

The location is superb. Right in the centre of Hermanus just a stones through away from the water. Great for solo travellers with the communal area where people eat, chat, and socialise. Plenty of restaurants and facilities nearby. The shared toilets and showers were always spotless and available!

Noise from the corridor can be quite loud at times but nothing out of the ordinary for similar properties.
