Hondarribia by Basquelidays

The location and the water views in the apartment were amazing. One of the bedrooms had an ensuite bathroom and fabulous views. Another bedroom did not have a view but had an ensuite bathroom. The other 2 bedrooms had no view and a bathroom in the nearby hallway. The owner met us and we were able to check in a little early. She also graciously allowed us to check out a little late to coordinate with our taxi arrival.

As other reviews have noted the apartment needs some repair and TLC. My bathroom had a towel warmer with so much rust you could hardly see the white of the rack (it was not usable obviously). The couch needs replacing and the entire place needs a remodel, especially for the price.

La comunicación con el anfitrión fue muy fácil y la entrada muy sencilla, Mikel fue muy agradable y sevicial. El apartamento cuenta con unas vistas extraordinarias y un excelente localización entre la mariana y la playa. Las habitaciones son muy amplias, y cuenta con tres baños. la terraza es amplia y se puede comer en ella.

El precio es desorbitado para una familia. No se ha invertido en mejorar el piso y el equipamiento es cómodo y funcional pero por el precio uno esperara algo mas, está anticuado. La cocina es muy pequeña y oscura y necesita cambios. Pero es lo que ay en pueblos como Hondarribia donde la gente hace un negocio extraordinario con los pisos y los jovenes del pueblo se tienen que marchar porque no pueden pagar.

Tal vez, es un piso muuuy usado, y necesita más mantenimiento, limpieza profunda y reparación de cosas de uso diario.

The location right on the waterfront was great. The surrounding environment was also great. There were plenty of eatries close by.

The foyer of the building was being renovated and we had to walk through this on every entry/exit, which is unsafe. This work also meant that the stairwell of the building was very dusty and there were some very loud noise during parts of the day. The apartment itself was OK but there were metal strips coming off the kitchen cupboards and the kitchen was poorly equipped. There was no tea towel supplied. although we finally found one in the washing machine when we went to use that. There was no powder or tablets for the dishwasher. Additional comments added next day and after looking at other reviews. I note all reviews from earlier this year have no comments - not sure if no comments made or site has deleted them. You be the judge! It is pretty apparent that with the keyless entry to this accommodation that you never see "landlord" face to face, which I think makes it easier to just not do anything to address issues raised in the reviews. My overall view is that it is a great location but substandard attention to cleaning and maintenance meant it wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been.

We could have used a couple of fans especially at night.
