Dalat Friendly Fun

The BEST homestay in Da Lat! The loveliest family and incredibly welcoming hosts. We arrived super early in the morning off our sleeper bus, and they went out of their way to get us settled in. They’re always happy to help and can assist with anything from hiring a scooter to organising activities around the area. The room is spotless and spacious, and the hosts consistently make you feel at home whenever you see them. This has been my partner’s and my favourite place we’ve stayed in Vietnam so far, couldn’t recommend it more! There’s also a café downstairs serving great local coffee.

FYI - music does get played by the cafe downstairs early in the morning, however this did not bother us.

Very big room, very big and comfy bed. Shower works well. Friendly owners! Smart TV with YouTube and Netflix inside the room as well.

It's not for you if you intend to get up after 8. Around that time the coffee shop downstairs gets busy and you'll hear that

Good value for money with the big private room I got, complete facilities, and responsive staff.

There’s a cafe at the lobby (ground floor) and so if you stay at the 2nd floor, you will hear the noise of the people downstairs. When I stayed there, I always came across group of men playing boards and on their phone, smoking and talking loudly.

Probably the biggest room I’ve stayed in on my SEA travels. The sophistication and options for lighting alone are worth a mention. Huge and very comfortable queen bed, softer than most you’ll find in SEA. A/C and circulation are great, big clean bathroom, wardrobe for your luggage and/or clothes. And—to me, the most important factor in finding a great spot—your hosts are attentive, helpful and mindful of your comfort. Very hospitable, and it’s like an “our home is your home” ethic. The location is as good as any other—Dalat doesn’t really have one single tourist “district”. It’s walkable to the center, and Trang will help you rent a scooter, book a bus, or whatever.

There’s construction going on behind the building, and at times it feels like the workmen are right next to you. That’s not the fault of the guesthouse, but it’s a reality that may be present for some time. They start working sometimes at 7am, but stop at a reasonable time. It wasn’t an issue for me, but it might be if you’re sensitive to that kind of thing. I almost don’t want to mention it, since the room and hosts are so amazing, but I believe it’s good to be informed.

This hostel is PHENOMENAL!!! Our room was spotless and comfortable. Trang is the most friendly, caring, communicative host. She truly cares about your experience as a guest and your wellbeing as a human. We owe our incredible time in Dalat to her, as she helped us organize some great excursions. Trang, thank you for your warm welcome!!! You are one of the kindest people we met during our trip. Steph and I felt so fortunate to meet you and stay at Friendly Fun!
