"Great cottage, shocking managing agency 'Accommodated'"

Driving up to the accommodation we were hit by the sheer beauty of the cute cottage that we could see through the trees. The place is absolutely delightful. It had everything we needed and beds were super comfy. So many great little touches and inclusions eg a great supply of dishwasher tablets, shampoo etc etc. The cottage itself was an absolute hit!

The organisation who manages the property - Accommodated - are an appalling company to deal with. They charged my credit card additional fees without my approval and when I contacted them to discuss it the response I received was absolutely not OK. On our second last day we had a power outage and when I contacted them they followed up appropriately which was good. For those who would like more details about the fees charged without my approval it is a bit of a long story but here goes: - I booked the cottage for 5 nights many months before our holiday. - A week or so out from the holiday my daughter asked if she could bring a friend - I agreed as we had booked the cottage and it had enough beds. - I emailed Accommodated to advise bedding arrangements ie. could we please have all beds made up. -The next day I saw a raft of emails come through advising that my credit card had been charged just under $240. - I went into a panic wondering what this was all about as I had paid for the accommodation already. I worked out from looking at the statement that they had charged for an additional person. - I contacted them by email to ask why they had done that. I had booked the cottage so was at a loss. - Some time later (a day or two from memory) I received an email back advising that I had booked for 4 people and bringing another child incurred a fee. In that email I was basically accused of lying about the number originally to get a cheaper price, in fact I had no idea as we were 4 at that time - The issue here for me was that my credit card was charged without any explanation or discusssion, and definitely without my OK. The implied accustsation then that I had done this on purpose was more than infuriating. - An amount of $240 is quite a sum and when the charge is not expected this is simply not a fair or just thing to do. I should have been contacted to be advised of the extra cost and asked how I would like to pay. Not good enough 'Accommodated'.

"Exceptional"

We had a very pleasant, warm, comfortable stay, could not have wished for better. Will definitely keep on our list if we go back to Medlow Bath again.

Nothing the host could do to change things, but it was a little difficult to find, but once found what a gem.

"Very good"

Location was excellent. Close to train station and a short drive to Katoomba town centre.

No washing machine or dryer. Would be helpful for longer staying customers.
