Wow, what a great place! We are very Happy that we found this ryokan, where we stayed for 2 nights. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We were amazed by the Excellent Dinner and breakfast menues, which are prepared live by the Chef. Also nice onsen in the facility which you can book all for yourself. So far the Highlight of our Japan vacation. Would definitely recommend this place! BR Simon

I had an incredible stay at Gora Soryu hotel in Hakone! The facilities were absolutely beautiful, and the accommodations were incredibly comfortable. The highlight of our visit was the relaxing private onsen, which provided a serene and rejuvenating experience. The authentic cuisine at the hotel was a gastronomic delight. Every meal was a journey through the flavors of Japan, and it left us craving for more. The attention to detail and the use of fresh ingredients truly impressed us. Moreover, the manager, Ryo Ueno, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. He was exceptionally helpful and hospitable, assisting us with everything we needed. He even helped us with arrangements to get to our next destination, which was greatly appreciated. I can’t recommend Gora Soryu hotel enough. If you’re looking for a luxurious and authentic experience in Hakone, this is the place to be. We left with wonderful memories and a desire to return in the future.

We had an amazing stay here. The staff is incredible. The rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you need. The onsen is relaxing and beautiful. The food is amazing. We loved every bit of it.

宿泊前日に一泊(1人)でこちらを予約。たまたま予約が取れてラッキーでした…!! 強羅駅からケーブルカーで上強羅駅下車(早雲山駅方面を向いて左側の扉から下車です。間違えるとかなり遠回りです)してまっすぐ2〜3分程歩けば到着。 館内は全てスリッパ移動です。 お部屋は和室で洗面所とトイレ付、お風呂は大浴場ですがチェックイン時に予約する1時間貸切制なのでゆっくりできます(貸切制は夕方〜夜のみで、早朝は自由に入れるようです)。私が泊まったお部屋(早雲)からは大文字焼きの跡が見えました。 お部屋の設備は空調、TV、冷蔵庫、セイフティボックス、湯沸かし器、ドライヤーがありました。ドライヤーは大浴場にもあり。近くにコンビニ等がないのでチェックインする前に飲み物や軽食は調達する必要アリです。ウェルカム用のお茶菓子で笹団子をいただきました。あとお布団は自分で敷く必要があります。 夕食と朝食付で、どちらもとっても美味しかったです!!どちらも和食で特に夕食のお寿司は美味です。ご飯だけ食べに来ている方もいらっしゃいました。食事の時間もチェックイン時に予約でした。 トータルで、小さなこども連れで泊まるというよりは大人の旅向きの旅館という雰囲気です。 チェックインした当日は部屋でゆっくりし、翌日は10時頃から夕方まで大涌谷と、宿の方に教えていただいた芦ノ湖の海賊船に乗ってがっつり観光しました(上強羅から早雲山まで宿から徒歩で行くとずっと緩やかな坂ですが15分くらいのほぼ一本道です。歩けました!!)。どちらもアクセスするのに便利な場所にある旅館です。 ノープランで勢いで決めた旅行でしたが、リフレッシュできました。スタッフの方も親切でとても良かったです。また機会があれば利用させていただきます。ありがとうございました◎

急な旅行で、初めて評価を見ました！ 評価10で、料金も高いから、大丈夫だと思って、行ってみたら、最悪でした。 荷物はセルフだし、フロント、誰も居なかった。 お風呂も狭くて、しかも勝手に貸切にされて、お風呂に入れたのは11時から12時の本の1時間だけ。 料理はセルフサービス、量が少なくて、味も良くなくて！ 何でこんな最悪の旅館は10ですか？理解し難い！

Excellent meals traditional Japanese gourmet food

I don’t have such a great experience in onsen ryokans, but this turned to be a nice cozy place, good for relaxing, and best accessible by bus. It is not as hard to get here as some reviews say. Although we have only spent a night here, we wished we had stayed longer. The hosts are very nice, having English knowledge. Offer free rides to nearby bus stations. The kitchen is also very good, though the eating place itself could use some coziness improvement. Consider this place when around.

We stayed here for our visit to Lake Ashi, Hakone Open Air museum, Owakudani and the Hakone area. And this was an absolute wonderful place to stay! It is a fairly small but very local and genuine ryokan with two private onsen. The dinner and breakfast included are both really good in the traditional Japanese style. The room is fairly spacious with a nice view over their garden. You pre-book one of their two private onsen and can enjoy a fairly large, very nice clean onsen for some comforting and relaxing time. The location is perfect with just a few minutes walk from the Kami-Gora stop of the cable car. (Get off on the left hand side when going up to Gora.) From here you have easy access to everything you want to see around Hakone. We will definitely stay at Gorasaryo again next time we go to the beautiful Hakone area!

This is a quite small family-run hotel, probably that's why the service is outstanding. You should definitely have the set dinner there, the food quality was amazing (especially beef & fish). The host is very friendly and speaks good English. Nice hot spring downstairs, for free, you can go together with your wife/husband because it's private, not separated by gender. When you leave the hotel you are in the nature directly and can have a nice walk in the sunshine.
