Villa Rokkaria

Very well organised and well equipped villa.

The underground rooms were very humid.

Danilo is a fantastic host and very accommodating and responsive. I asked him last minute about whether the property had a high chair for our toddler, he didn't but he then went out of his way to get one and drove from Cagliari to the villa (about an hour drive) to make sure it was there when we arrived. The villa is lovely and very clean. Lots of nice outdoor space and plenty of indoor living space. A comfy sofa, I had a good nap on there! Each bedroom was a good size with ample storage space. Location is also amazing, only a few minutes walk to the main street, 15-20mins walk to the nearest beach or a 8mins drive to Porto Giunco (beautiful beach). You have a a reserved car park space directly outside the property. We had a couple of minor issues during our stay but either Danilo or Giuseppe (the caretaker) were responsive and quick to help. Overall, the space was perfect for the 6 of us and a baby.

This is not a criticism of the villa nor Danilo, it's a requirement of Villasimius, but the waste collection system was not easy to understand. Every single day there is a waste collection and you have to use specific bags for different types of waste. But even though we were given a guide, it was not always easy to understand which waste should go in which bag. Also, being on holiday i didn't expect I'd need to take the bins out every day! The property operates using gas cylinders (which i believe is common there). We found that we had to constantly turn the cylinders on and off depending on when we needed gas, because if you leave them open for too long, it leaves a bad smell in the villa. The WiFi does not reach the furthest downstairs bedroom which is bit of a pain. So the property could do with an additional booster. The TV is also very old, it's great that there is a firestick so you can watch prime / netflix / youtube, but there were no local TV channels available which was a shame, especially since Euro 2024 was on! This was not a problem for us but if you have mobility issues, you should know that you need to navigate several steps to access the property.

Wonderful apartment with a lot of space, a beautiful interior and three fully equipped sleeping rooms with separate bathrroms. It´s located perfectly at the entrance of Villasimus so you can reach the Simius beach by feet. Definitely recommended for a group of 3-6 people. Hopefully coming back soon.
