The Royal Oak

We booked for bed and breakfast then had our evening meal there. The food is so nice, we would highly recommend.

We stayed here for 1 night last minute as a stop over on a trip heading north. We arrived on a Friday night, it’s a popular local pub and very busy. The staff were lovely and breakfast was very good.

The room is basic, it was mostly clean but the carpet was dirty, you can see around the bed the colour the carpet used to be, it could really do with a clean.

My only observation for improvement was the carpets. It's definitely used by walkers and the carpets needed a freshen up.. Bedroom was very clean just the carpets really from muddy boots

Food was outstanding room was lovely and spacious and staff were fabulous

Room needed a bit more of a clean cobwebs hanging from beams in bathroom

Great location, excellent food both function room and breakfast.

Floors very creaking, extractor fan poor . Over spill carpark very muddy. Barking dogs when I went to bed.

Very friendly and relaxed. Food was superb, and huge portion sizes.

Although there was a wardrobe, there were no hooks to hang wet coats in the room. Also no hooks or shelves in the bathroom.

Good location, great burger supper.

Food was extremely good - especially the steak which was locally sourced. Best one I've had in a pub for ages.
