"Unforgettable place to stay"

10.0

I can't recommend Terau Beach Bungalows highly enough. Kaboua and Tinnai (pronounced "Sin-ai"), who run the place, couldn't do enough to make my stay comfortable. The accommodation is thatched huts - so don't expect 5 star - but there can't be many 5 star places where you're lulled to sleep by the gentle lapping of the lagoon. Tinaai is a great cook, which helps of course. Kaboua organised an excellent boat trip to a deserted island across the lagoon, as well as a visit to a local village to see some traditional dancing. It's interesting (and beautiful) just to walk around the local area. As I say, both hosts will go the extra mile for their guests. It's a simple and quiet retreat, but I defy you not to find it truly memorable. Do go if you can!
