Sanctuary Park Cottages

Our second stay at Sanctuary Park in 3 months, we do like it there.

While the cottage itself was as it is portrayed in the photos online, the surrounds of the property were not as we expected. We booked this cottage as the property had a playground however, it looked incredibly unsafe. With exposed nails, no safety chain on the baby swing and a very sad looking sandpit (with minimal sand), my little boy was not able to play on it. The property advertised a minimum breakfast supplied in the cottages (bread, spreads, milk) for which we found out the following morning when we contacted the owners, they were no longer supplying. There wasn't even any oil, salt or any other basic supplies that we have found in other properties around the yarra valley. A self contained cottage should at least have that provided.

It was the cutest little cottage with beautiful views! Our toddler loved exploring the grounds, seeing the wildlife and playing on the little playground. The owners offered us a cot at no extra cost and the property was completely safe for a 2 year old - including providing a fire gate for the usable wood heater (and cut up firewood ready to go). Perfect little getaway for our Mother's Day weekend before baby no. 2 arrives 🥰

The interior was a little dark and outdated, it didn't bother us at all as it kept with the cottage charm but if others are expecting modern then maybe this isn't for you.

Really great spot! Loved the sunset cabin and the bonus loaf of bread, jams and milk! Will defo be back!

This was the perfect place to unwind and spend a couple of days exploring nature during the day and sitting in front of a warm fire at night. It had everything we needed and more!

The location.

The homestead was uncared for, broken fly screen door, children's playground had nails sticking up and was dangerous. Children's playground was not as pertrayed in the photos on this site. The pool which was supposed to have solar heating was too cold to swim in as the solar heating was turned off. Also was misleading that the homestead accom is cited as having a pool however it does not say that it is open to all other people even though it is at the back door of the homestead. Spa bath in bathroom did not work.This once would have been a lovely retreat but needs a lot of maintenance to bring it back. It is overpriced for a place that was untidy, dirty and poorly maintained. Pool area and verandahs needed blower vaccuming as did the back patio area. Dead plants in pots did not add any appeal. 1 BBQ for 7 holiday units.

We had a wonderful time at the Sanctuary Park Cottages, over a weekend get away with family and friends. The location is superb and we loved everything about our experience.

That we could not stay there longer!
