TouchBed City Apartments St. Gallen

Very clean apartment right at the edge of the old town of St. Gallen and a very easy walk to the main train station. Well equipped for a few nights stay. Would consider again for future stays in the city.

Es war zu warm, ich musste die Heizung drastisch runterdrehen. Es hat gestunken nach Parfum & es hatte kein Haarshampoo. Sonst war alles bestens

Was initially a bit reluctant to book this property as the reviews were varied but so glad we did and didn’t spend double the price on a hotel. We did go for a private studio rather than a room with a shared bathroom which elevated the cost a little but it was worth it. Room had all the amenities we needed, down to a colander and cheese grater so we could make some dinner. The only thing missing was a TV. Check in was a bit of a nightmare as we booked last minute and had no data roaming but they needed a copy of our passports and everything is done remotely - there is no reception. There is wifi when you arrive but then you have to wait for your code to get into the room. Overall a very comfortable stay.

No privacy as room was on ground level with a public walkway straight outside the windows. Room clean, with a bland and unimaginative interior. Good location in walking distance to everything. Overpriced for what it is.

We rented an apartment for a couple of days and were pleased with its location, functionality and cleanliness. The check-in (contactless) was smooth and easy, the flat was well-appointed, with fridge, cooking facilities, a nice bathroom and comfortable beds.

We were there 3 times over the last 2 months for business and family trips, and it was a nice discovery. The rooms are nicely prepared, the kitchen well equipped and the checkin with code always worked well. Everything is as documented on the webpage. If you come by car, there are usually some "blaue zone" parking space on the streets around the location, sometimes a bit far, but it was never an issue. The location is very central (3 minutes by foot from the Abbey of Saint Gall and all the restaurants/shops around).

All of my St. Gallen reviews have the caveat that St. Gallen is nice, but not worth a separate trip. If it's on your way somewhere else it's a decent stop with a few things to see. We booked two rooms & thought we'd be sharing one bathroom amongst our family, but it turns out we were sharing the bathroom & kitchen area with another group. This wasn't clear in the reservation, so make sure you know exactly what you're getting! Luckily we only had to stay one night. It's also pretty far from parking & at the top of a hill, so be ready for some exercise getting your luggage there & back.
