The Dormer House

This bed and breakfast was charming and comfortable. The great & filling breakfast was served on a sunny enclosed porch. The problem we had was that right outside our window was a bright light for entry into the building that was like daylight all night long. After telling the staff about the problem, they changed the thin see through curtains to room darkening ones, which helped a little. What is actually needed are blackout curtains and blinds or shades. Do not book Room #3.

Very convenient to all wonderful activities in Cape May. Dlicious breakfasts, lovely and helful host. Free off street oarking a real plus.

We loved the beauty and history, but also the walkability to shopping, restaurants and the ocean. We will go back

We spent two nights at this B&B in Cape May. We found the reservation process to be easy and were very pleased to have the off-street parking lot at the back. The house manager was very accommodating and helpful. The stairs into the building from the parking lot were a bit of a challenge but we made it with suitcases and handheld items. The house apparently stays open. Of course, the room locked with a key and chain. The room, #3 Anthony Hunsicker, was large with a desk, chest and small table I used for my suitcase. There was a small refrigerator we used to chill some wine. The bathroom had a shower and was large. It had a shelf over the toilet and at the side. There was plenty of room for our toiletries. The sink and shower worked fine. Basic soaps and other items are provided. There were enough electrical outlets for us both in the bedroom and bathroom. The television had limited channels, but we weren't here to watch television. There is a parlor area where afternoon tea and cookies are set out; cookie packages are labeled by room number. Breakfast is served on the side porch, front porch or parlor when we were there. The menu changed each day. The chalk board on the porch had the menu listed. Breakfast is a set menu and served. I'm not sure if you can substitute other foods. We got plenty to eat both days. We found the place to be quite and comfortable. The location is excellent. Apparently, they have beach chairs, but we didn't need them.

This is a lovely B&B and the innkeeper was very welcoming and gracious. It was in a great location. Breakfast was delicious, beds were comfy. We have it as a place we will definitely go back to.

I loved my stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The staff were nice too. Great location…short walk to the beach and Washington St mall. I highly recommend staying here.

Nice Place

Pros: Excellent location near Washington Street Mall. Excellent breakfast both days. Very nice common areas (ex:front porch, breakfast area, Living Room). Nice bathroom. Con: Room was in need of refurbishment.

I loved it was a Victorian house. It was lovely inside and out. Afternoon tea was so special. The staff was wonderful.
