Villa Segalla

Everything! This was my favorite place we stayed in all of Croatia. The pictures are accurately representative of the room. Emina and her husband Milenko were the best hosts: honest and caring people . Emina is an artist and her paintings are on display in their reception area. She also has a flair for design and every little space had some little interesting piece of art or interesting object or flowers. I called it my fairytale room with its iron bed and comfortable bedding. There was a bottle of wine and water and a beautiful fruit plate and chocolate. Every day there was roomservice. Milenko was a great guy. He was very strong, a professional wrestler, and he helped us with our baggage up the wooden spiral staircase to our 2nd story room. He also walked along with us to the ferry the morning we left at 6:30PM. He got up early to help us with our bags. We truly appreciated his help.

Nothing to report Everything was first class. There is no lift, so you must be able to clinb stairs.

Location, location and location. In the heart of the Old town Rovinj 2 minutes away from the beach where you can enjoy swimming and sunbath during the day and in the evening this is transferring into a stunning Cocktail bar watching sunset and drinking C&M Champagne. Taking a different corner, and you are in the artisan street, with plenty of small shops and domestic artisans. Taking a different corner again, and you are at Riva (main square along the sea).

Foremost, the hospitality of the hosts was just exceptional. They carried out bags up and have us a ride back to our car, provided snacks and wine each day, checked in frequently, and offered friendship as well as service. If able to manage steps it is ideal. The location is fabulous in a beautiful ancient city that is perfectly preserved.

The room was beautiful if a bit small, but perfect for couples. The WiFi signal was in and out, but our cellular reception was fine.

The hosts were the kindest people in the world! We were on our honeymoon and they so kindly got us a gift and a card alongside all of the other wonderful treats they left each day. The room was spectacular (right in the centre of the old town with everything at your doorstep) and the bed was so comfortable. It was the most perfect, most romantic honeymoon. They kindly organised pick up and drop off to the airport for us too. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Beautiful, cosy, comfortable room in a beautifully restored house right in the heart of Rovinj Old Town. Window boxes full of flowers, shutters - it's quite enchanting. Excellent location for mooching around the Old Town, bars and restaurants, and rocky swimming spots. Emina, the owner, lives on the top floor and can't do enough: bottles of water each day, delicious wine and chocolates in the room. I was early for checkin and that wasn't a problem. Breakfast is at Balbi round the corner, really extensive buffet and coffee etc with friendly staff. I really enjoyed my 3 nights here and was genuinely sad to leave (the same goes for beautiful Rovinj).

There was absolutely nothing I didn't like, but there are a couple of things to be aware of. The spiral staircase is undoubtedly a beautiful feature of the property BUT does mean its not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Ideally don't have a suitcase or big bag - and if you do, make sure you can heft it up and down the stairs! The property only accepts cash payment. In itself not a problem but I completely forgot that ATMs only allow the withdrawal of a certain amount of Euro per day, so I had to make a quick early morning dash to the ATM! Some people might not like that you can hear people at night on the street below - it didn't bother me and it would be nothing ear plugs can't fix.

The room was a underful surprise to us! Everything seems to be taken from a painting: nice furniture, every object was chosen with care and attention to details. Plus, the owner, Ema, is extremely friendly and she greeted us with fresh fruit, a bottle of wine, chocolates and in the fridge there were bottles of water. Every morning the room was cleaned and refreshed.

Location and boutique feel of the apartment was the best aspect of the accommodation. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful.

Fantastic central location, friendly hosts and several nice little extras e.g some wine, fruit and chocolates.

The shower could be updated to be more powerful but not a big issue.

Very enjoyable with plenty of choice
