Safari Plains

Tents were spacious and comfortable. Very rare to see a two bedroom tent.

Guides were not as informed as I’d like but they were really nice.

The property is ideally situated at a 2 hour drive away from Johannesburg. Staff went out of their way to assist with wheel-chair bound mother. The room was spacious and the outside lounging area a great touch. Food was amazing and the boma dinner added a great African feel.

Lovely midweek getaway. The food was fantastic with great variety. We enjoyed the game drives and our guide Ethan was friendly and well informed. The staff in general always went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant

It would have been great if the pool was warm. Being tents, they are not well insulated so on colder/ windy evenings, you feel the draft in the room. Electricity went off on one evening, but was promptly sorted by staff - however this lead to the geyser not working, so there was no hot water that evening/ the next morning.

we liked everything from the safari game drives ,the guide(Russell)was very informative and friendly ,he made sure that everyday we see different animals to the food wow every thing about the food was wow it was really value for money .

Everything was excellent from the staff to the food.

Only complaint: Outside area at the pool & deck was not cleaned. Tables was very dirty outside and the pool also.

We enjoyed our stay @ Safari Plains. Arriving we were received by such friendly faces. The Luxury Tented Chalet we stayed in were overlooking the field where the game came to graze. We enjoyed the morning & afternoon game drives with the well informed guide, Ben. On our first night we had an open air dinner prepared by the chef and staff, it was amazing! We most definately recommend a stay at this 5 star lodge it will be an experience you'll never forget. ALL the staff made our stay fantastic.
