Hotel Da Benito

Located in the center of Norcia, this hotel is accommodating. I was originally booked for a single room, but due to a group, I was moved to the attic triple. A nice room, but uncomfortable because of low ceiling beams, and only 1 skylight with no view. The rooms were converted to lodging, so there are some inconveniences, no light switch at the bed, the bathroom was a little tight. A coat rack for clothing. A commercial fridge for energy drinks off to the side. Breakfast can be a little daunting as it is in the bar below the rooms and in the morning it can become quite busy with local workers having their breakfast as well. For the right price it is a respectable hotel, too bad Norcia is still recovering from the earthquake.

The hotel is very clean and well-restored, and the staff were cordial. Norcia is a challenging visit right now, as the tragedy caused by the earthquake is everywhere you look. Not a lot of tourists around, if any, but since it's historically a bit of a tourist town, there's a bit of a weird balance - I had difficulty meeting people, and apart from the hotel and a sprinkling of restaurants, all of the businesses and homes are currently in a temporary village outside of the old town walls. This hotel was warm, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and it was a great value for the room itself. It's more of a question of whether or not you'd want to visit Norcia at the moment -- certainly I think they need tourists right now to help rebuild the town, but it was a weird place. I felt a good amount of sorrow the entire time I was there. If you do decide to visit Norcia, though, I would recommend this place - it was restored after an earthquake in the 60s so it survived and has been recently renovated again. Breakfast was a cappuccino and pastry at the bar downstairs.

Ho prenotato questo hotel in tarda serata, per poter passare una notte a Norcia. Arrivato a mezzanotte, e trovando la reception chiusa, ho contattato il proprietario che gentilissimo ha attivato sua mamma per aprirci e farci accomodare. Gentilissima al quadrato, a venirci incontro a quell'ora e con il freddo che c'era!!! La camera è molto confortevole e arredata con gusto, la colazione ottima e la posizione perfetta al centro della cittadina, dove purtroppo i segni del sisma sono ben visibili. Il tutto ha un'aria comunque magica...visitate l'hotel e Norcia!!!

The room was very clean with a nice small balcony. Most of the staff didn't speak english, but they all really tried their best to help you anyway. We enjoyed an Italian breakfast in the morning in this lovely town that is definately worth a visit! The only thing that confused us was the set up of the hotel. There was no reception, but just a bar to ask for a room and the entrance was a hidden door at the back. Further no complains, we enjoyed our stay!
