Il Castello di Campello

Being high on the hill in a magical location was great.

A lovely location and, as seen online, a very large room with a very comfortable bed, comfortable chairs and views over the valley far below. The accommodation is directly opposite an old church - the surroundings are beautiful. I can imagine how lovely it would be there in the summer (I was there in the winter). A steep road up to the castello, and slightly tricky parking; however, this is manageable if you are driving a small car and used to negotiating tiny roads. An offer of a free pizza - given that nobody was available to meet me when I arrived - was much appreciated; however, I had already bought basic groceries in the village below. Breakfast, in a caffe in Clitunno, was very nice.

I had indicated on this booking site that I would arrive at the time when the space became available. I arrived on time and could not find anyone at all - and no answers to my calls. After about 10 minutes of trying, someone answered the phone; I had to wait 30 minutes while a young woman drove up from the valley to give me the keys and let me in. Luckily - although it was winter - it was a sunny day and I could sit on the steps outside the lovely old church and wait. So, not the end of the world. Just, perhaps, be clear about your arrival time. It is a wonderful location and, presumably, during the season everything is open. Very friendly young woman who gave me the keys...finally.

Fabulous views and gorgeous room. Nice touches, coffee maker, hob. We arrived late and they were kind enough to bring us food from their restaurant in the village. Loved it and would go back.

Breakfast a disappointment. I have stayed in places where breakfast basket left in room, bread, jams, cereal, yoghurt and milk which would be a good idea.

Comfortable bed . Nice castle around.

Description is misleading. The restaurant and breakfast are 15 minutes away by car. Check in and owners were offhand. No windows in the apartment and they even charge for the water in the tiny fridge . The ceiling permits a lot of noise from the apartment above

Very kind host and beautiful apartment!

La struttura e' eccellente. Spazi ampi. Ristrutturata senza risparmi in ogni dettaglio. Non una canalina o un condizionatore visibile, anche dall'esterno. A proposito il condizionamento e' molto utile, data l'altitudine non sempre, ma in alcuni giorni di agosto ci sta bene.
