The Northern Inn

The room was very charming and comfortable. Friendly staff and the rate was very affordable given the proximity to the redwood's state park. The floor could have been cleaner, but we have stayed in far worse. The nearby neighborhood is a bit rundown and the bar next door was a bit sketch on the night we were there.

I was looking for a hotel to stay in right outside of the avenue of giants so I could start my day driving through it on my way to eureka. I wanted to maximize my first day of vacation after flying into San Fran and ended up not getting into Redway until 12:30am. The hotel staff were flexible and were able to provide us with late check in. I’m medium boujee about hotels but also on a medium budget, especially when it’s just a quick sleep over. My top priorities are safety, cleanliness, and location. It checked all the boxes. I was nervous about the location being remote or sketchy but it was right next to a restaurant and a gas station and it felt safe. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place in the area for a moderate price.

Super loud! Not as expected for the motel in the woods. Right off the road and next to the bar which closes only after 12 am. So, a lot of people, motocyclices, and loud conversations! Will never book this place again ...

Damien was nice. The room was clean and cute. The shower rod was a little broken but didnt effect our stay. Its a cute place that shows that the owners care and are renovating.There are a restaurants nearby. There are easy stairs.

Staff was very friendly and the room was nice, only complaint was that it was a bit outdated.

Only thing I liked about this property was the manager was very nice. Otherwise, the room smelled moldy. Bugs were in the room. In order to stretch the hand soap and shower gel, you can tell they just added water to it so it was literally water. The bathroom floor had unidentifiable stuff on it that was clearly unmopped. Manager was cool and nice though!

This hotel was old and worn out. I would have been ok with that if the description and photos had not been so misleading. Many of the pieces of furniture in the photos did not exist. The beds were not comfortable, one you rolled into the center and struggled to get out of. The linens and bedding were cheap and rough. The darkout curtains were full of holes. The only good thing was the bar next door. They were nice and didn't get noisy.

Our room's smoke alarm went off and the hotel staff helped us take it out, but it already scared my kids. Also, my parents' room was wreaked of the smell of smoke (previous guests must have been smoking in the room).

Very pleasant check in, quiet motel in a quiet town. Very clean
