"Cracking little cottage next to Porth Dafarch beach & the coastal walkway"

8.0

Fantastic little cottage in a superb and quiet location next to the beach and clifftops for sunset views. It's only a short car ride to the main supermarkets across in Holyhead and easily connects to the other small towns/villages for cafes & restaurants. We were a little apprehensive reading recent reviews of the cleanliness of the cottage prior to our arrival however, we arrived early and found a lovely local lady from Holyhead with others already in the cottage hoovering, mopping and providing fresh linen throughout; happily we had no issues at all when it was our time to check-in. It was a great little family week away, walking, sight seeing, crabbing with the kids and is ideally located away from the main touristy spots but still provides easy access routes (car or walking) to visit the other local towns/villages on Holy Island.

We were very happy with everything provided, a washer machine would be useful to have but not a necessity for a 1 week holiday.

"Excellent little property, ideal for our family holiday."

10.0

This is the second time we have stayed here and it is ideal for our small family, located within a few minutes walk of one of Anglesey’s best/beautiful beach. The property was everything we needed for our beach orientated holiday, it’s nicely decorated, clean, well equipped and has beautiful views over the hills to the mountains.

Nothing.

"Do not book y leiaf"

1.0

The location which is why we chose this property

The place had not been cleaned on our arrival. It was still full of the previous visitors dirty linen and towels . Sand all over the floor and in the beds. Dishes were left on the drainer and half bottles of milk and wine in the fridge. The milk expired 4 days before our arrival. We were advised to leave the property while it was cleaned. We arrived back at around 19:30 . Someone had been in and changed 1 bed out of the 4 . The mop was still dry so the place had not been mopped even though we gave them a good 3 hours to clean up. In general, the place was filthy. The cushions on the sofa were all heavily stained with who knows what. The towels were bleach stained the upstairs beds remained full of ? Tooth paste ( white substance) and sand. My sister slept in one of the beds and only realised the next morning after she was about to make the bed. We slept together in the downstairs bed for 2 nights as the upstairs beds were out of play and the cleaner had assured oyster that they had been changed. They clearly had not. I slept on the couch the last night . I felt dirty during my stay as the property was in such a poor state. I wanted to go home but as we get to spend so little time together due to work comitments my sister wanted to stay. The table was sticky , the vents were black with filth, rotten wood around the sink in kitchen, the cord pulls in the bathroom were so dirty we left the light on so we didn't have to use it. The entire property needs a deep clean and the soft furnishings need to be replaced. This place was a health hazard in my opinion. We have many photos to back up our claims. We are currently in discussion with oyster for compensation as we were throughout our stay. The most upsetting thing was to find out that the previous visitors had exactly the same experience and we still had this to endure. It should have been sorted then. Do not book this property !!

"Disappointing service"

1.0

The location was nice

On arrival no light fixture in the only bathroom. None of the torches worked. Dusty. Missing 1 bed duvet cover ( we were told when we were on the way and suggested we buy this and get a refund). We reported the problems and half the guests left early with a promise of full refund but not yet received.
