River Gardens Cottage

The owners were great. The food at the garden centre next door was lovely. The garden was great for my dog.

The cottage it's self is very dated the kitchen floor is so creaky i hated walking on it at night. The summer house looks like it's about to collapse so did not use.

Where it was situated

Not disabled friendly unfortunately. High steps into property. Gas oven 2 low to floor for lighting. Horrendous for anyone with disabilities in mobility. Recommend taking Air fryer. Toilet cubicle very tiny. Be better if it was one big wet room instead of 3 separate doors. Shower held up by Elastic band!!!! Hedge near exit gates needs cutting back has you can't fully open gates and it's a VERY tight parking spot to begin with. Bushes don't help. The summer house on photos looks lovely but it's very run down and cobwebs all inside. Obviously doesn't get cleaned/hoovered very often. You can hear the Train Pickering - Whitby line has it sounds it's horn when it passers the garden centre every single time. The chippy in the Village of Sleights is worth a visit but car needed has it's a fair walk.

Location was very good. Very convenient for Whitby and the coast as well as for the North Yorkshire moora
