Raven Cottage

Location perfect. Very central. Easy to walk around. Pass for car park which was pretty close. Great furnishings inside. Easy access to shops, pubs and restaurants and cafes.

The location and the property was super clean

It was very comfortable and cozy. They had put up a Christmas tree and winter/Christmas decorations so it felt like a home more than a place to crash. It was very nice and warm. They even left some scones and milk as a “welcome”!

Everything was good overall, the bathroom could get a bit cold and the oven didn’t seem to work, but apart from that everything was great.

The host kindly provided a welcome pack of scones and there was tea/coffee/sugar/milk available which was unexpected but very appreciated. The property was well furnished and tastefully decorated and well equipped and was very convenient for the town and a great base for exploring Teesdale. I would certainly use the property again.

Dining table was small but adequate for 3 people.

Beautiful cottage. Facilities excellent. Excellent location - a minute walk into the town. Very welcomed afternoon tea for us on arrival which was a lovely touch. The cottage felt cosy. Beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Only very very slight improvement would have been a hairdryer - my fault for not checking facilities on the property info before going. Morrisons is only a few minutes walk for essentials. Lots of fabulous cafes and independent shops to browse in. Dog friendly property and town. Excellent host - I unfortunately became very ill in the early hours of Sunday morning. My partner called the host to ask whether we could have an extra hour before checking out to give me time to pull myself together. The host very kindly allowed us an extra 2 hours despite having other guests booked in later that day. Plenty of lovely walks round about. Raby castle is worth a visit. Whether you want a base from which to explore or just want to stay in and relax, this cottage is a must!

Very comfortable, nicely decorated in great location in centre of Barnard Castle and yet really quiet.

Use of air fresheners
