Running Waters

It was clean upstairs

Damp downstairs, smelled damp, felt damp in the beds , towels damp and smelled too

Excellent accommodation for 6 people with the 1 double and 2 twin rooms, 2 showers and toilets, and a bath

The bathroom smelt when we arrived as did the small bath towels so we ended up buying new bath sheets and an air freshener which helped a little but there was still a smell when we left. Also the shower over the bath gave little more than a trickle but the second shower was fine.

The pool was good and the grounds are nice and tranquil.

Bar and facilities are a bit rough round the edges. Accommodation itself was spacious and well equipped but a little bit tired in places. It wasn't super clean and an obvious smell of dogs/foistiness, hairs in the shower etc which was a bit off-putting and probably the main downside

Spacious cottage plenty of living spaces and bedrooms are nice and comfortable. A lof of storage places, good for families with lots of luggage. Very clean too. The owners are very thoughtful and left lots of information leaflet, they were very helpful for us who don't plan things ahead. Snacks and tea were in the room made us feel so welcome. The facility are good. It has all a family would need. We went swimming a few times in the site as well. They have an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool. The site was very quiet at night. Very good for sleeping in. Good location of the cottage, very close to shop and pub. Pub food is good but if you want to cook the cottage got cooker and pots and pans. So lots of choices. There were games in the room left for kids to do too. The owners are very friendly and let us know all the instructions before we arrived. A great place for families. I would recommend.

My only problem is that the post code we were given is wrong. It took us some time to find the place

The location was convenient and beautiful.

It is advertised with free wifi - there isn’t any in the lodge. it advertises pool, table tennis etc. it doesn’t mention that you not only have to pay to use the facilities, but you have to provide your own equipment. We couldn’t use the pool table as we had no change and there’s no change vending machine, nor can you get change from the shop/reception/pub. That’s information we needed before we left Australia so we could add it in our budget. We went there because of the facilities and then didn’t use them.

We spent a lovely week at Running Waters. The lodge was nice, clean and well equipped. The beds were comfy and 2 bathrooms for a group of 5 were great. The lounge was comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone. We definitely recommend Running Waters to anyone who wants to spend a nice, pleasant time in Cornwall

Very clean accommodation, Honicombe Park and facilities were excellent and very easy to get out and about to explore Cornwall

Unfortunately there were some building work at the lodge next door which meant our break was not as tranquil as we were hoping. I fully understand that maintenance work has to be done and this did not ruin our holiday.

Lovely lodge in a beautiful area. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 teenagers, lodge close to reception/shop, bar and leisure facilities, staff all very friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again
