Kitts Cottage, Redruth, Cosy Cornish Retreat

The cottage had everything you could need, was very comfortable, warm and inviting.

The bridleway/drive was an adventure every time!

perfectly quiet and peaceful. secluded enough but still has easy access to everything.

super steep stairs to the bedroom was hard to walk in socks or slippers. Gate could have used a small reflector or motion sensor Led light as we arrived after sundown and it was hard to find. (and you don’t want to drive past the turning even in a vehicle made for all terrain in the dark!)

Wonderful quiet location, a 15 minute drive from lots of beautiful beaches. Lovely cosy cottage with lots of character and a very welcome wood burning stove. Very dog friendly. Lots of walks and a couple of little lakes all from the cottage. No light pollution at all at night - just the stars!

As others have said, getting to the house is a challenge. Luckily our car rides high off the ground so the last 300 yds presented no problem. We also trimmed the hedges with a pair of scissors so that the car didn't get scratched - sounds drastic but took all of ten minutes. Once there, you will know it was worth the effort. The house is lovely to look at and lovely to stay in. The modern kitchen has everything you need. The shower works very well. Water pressure is surprisingly good for a house that feels so remote. The wood burner is easy to use and adds to the atmosphere during a dark evening. The bedroom is large, the bed is comfortable. There are multiple places to sit in the garden, with family to eat, to bbq, or to just relax alone. There are countless points of interest within walking or cycling distance. The pond at the top of the lane for a swim, or ride off to see the industrial heritage close by. The main road up is called Sunrise Hill for good reason. On a clear day make the effort to get up early and see it. Magical.

The sofa bed in the living room wasn't comfortable to sit on.
