Lemon Cottage

The cottage is beautiful, and in a really handy location. Hatherleigh has literally everything you could need, including a petrol station with the cheapest fuel around! Highly recommend - a truly lovely, very comfortable home from home and the owners have made some very thoughtful touches, including making up the beds for the children with little toys ❤️ the furniture is all very comfortable and the kitchen is well-stocked, including with children's crockery and cutlery.

The shower screen is very impractical - it makes running a bath very difficult as you cannot reach the taps easily and I'm not particularly short. Bathing young children was very difficult as they would have to stand to be washed on the back curve of the bath and this did result in a lot of slipping. There was no non-slip mat to counteract this, and the screen could not be pushed inwards either as it would swing outwards to the edge of the bath and hurt the children. I was afraid of pulling it outward in case I would break it - please consider a folding screen! Also a handle/rail would be useful for getting in and out of the bath safely. The water temperature and pressure was brilliant though! Ideally some information relevant to the cottage would be in a little folder on the table as you walk in. I found a sheet in the key/post box about local attractions, where to eat and what to do with the key at the end of our stay but there was nothing about what to do with rubbish or recycling, and we felt awkward leaving it in the cottage. We did find some manuals in the sideboard at the end of our trip but little things like how to use the microwave and the fact that the fridge needed turning on would have been helpful. We didn't discover until the morning that we left that the fridge was actually off at the wall! We did really enjoy our stay though and this would not stop us booking again!

Location was perfect for exploring Devon and Cornwall. House was lovely and quaint, very comfortable, had everything you'd need and beautifully decorated. Spotlessly clean. Host was lovely.

Honestly it was perfect, wouldn't change anything.

Nothing all good cottage only has shower over bath could do with non slip mat for getting in and out of shower. Make people aware may already do this house stairs etc not suitable for people with mobility issues. Lovely cottage well equipped clean etc.

Modern, comfortable and well equipped. Convenient location for town and Tarka Trail.

Maybe better for 3 people than 4 as double bedroom really fit for one person rather than 2 due to bed against the wall. Helpful to be aware that bathroom is downstairs.

lovely little cottage in the centre of Hatherleigh. Extremely clean, comfortable and cosy. Perfect for our 4 night stay whilst visiting friends in the area.

A really lovely cottage. A welcoming light was on and we liked the milk and biscuits left for us It was very clean and kitchen was well equipped. The carpark was very near and was free overnight and very cheap during the day.

The stairs and steps were not easy for us because we were all over 80 yrs old. But otherwise the cottage was a delight to stay in.

Beautiful cottage in idealic location. A home fro. Home is so much easier than a hotel when working away. I would definitely stay again.
