Holmlea Cottage

A lovely little one bedroom cottage in the town if Mickleton, which is a quiet town however it does have two pubs within walking distance. The cottage has an off road parking space which made life easier. There is a fully functional kitchen with everything you want, the sitting room was cosy and warm, as was the whole cottage which we liked. The bed was lovely and comfortable, the shower room was spot on very spacious with a lovely powerful shower. The only slight issue was that the shower and toilet were downstairs with the bedroom upstairs, not a major issue and logistically with the design of the house it could not go anywhere else. Would we recommend, yes.

Lovely cottage and a good location for the places we wanted to visit. Everything we needed in the kitchen and a lovely welcome of tea coffee and milk!

A warm and cosy cottage, perfect for me and my dog. There was handy off street parking and a lovely little garden .The kitchen was well appointed and the bed and bedding super luxurious and comfortable. There were beautiful dog walks straight from the door, either the railway walk or along the lanes. Everyone we met along the way was friendly towards us.

I couldn't figure out how to use the microwave. But that was probably more to do with me than the appliance itself!

Nothing really. I suppose nice to have a slightly bigger bed but only because we are quite tall!

A lovely, warm, cosy cottage. Kitchen very modern and well equipped. It was nice to have a little garden. I was particularly delighted that there was an off road parking space. Lots of dog walks from the door, especially along the old railway track .

I can't think of anything to do with the cottage though it was a shame there wasn't a shop in the village.

Such a lovely, cosy and beautifully furnished cottage. We really appreciated the Welcome Pack and flowers which were a lovely touch and made us feel 'at home'. The kitchen and cottage is well equipped and there's everything at hand to make our stay really comfortable. Our contact with the owners was helpful and friendly, and helped us to feel welcome too. The location was perfect for as we were visiting an event at Grassholme Observatory, but was great for walking too. Being near to Middleton in Teesdale, Barnard Castle and Staindrop, there are lots of interesting things to do, as well as being close to stunning scenery. We also had a fantastic meal at The Rose and Crown at Romaldkirk. Such a great stay and we can't wait to have another occasion when we can return.

The stairs were steep, which we know is usual for a cottage of that age and style. However, they were well lit and the bannisters gave any support needed.

Lovely little cottage. Perfect for visiting high force waterfall and for a stop over en route to Scotland.
