"Spectacular location, brilliant property. Will be returning"

10.0

The property was a prime location. Nearest town was 5 minute drive away. Close to a local pub, close to a nice river that you can paddle and swim in. Everything was nearby the major roads. Alton towers is close by. We will be coming back

Extremely hot in the upstairs room with no aircon or fan facilities but made do

"Lovely peaceful stay"

10.0

Beautiful little cottage. Ideal for a few days. Location is great. Pub just a short walk away that does food and breakfast too. Except Mondays for breakfast.

Stairs are a bit steep. But nothing that we couldn’t deal with. Couldn’t find a hair dryer too. So good job I took one

It was quaint in a rustic way.lt had character. The area was nice with lovely views across open fields.lt was a short drive or about 1 hour walk into Ashbourne.lt was February when we stayed but the heating was enough to keep us warm.

Some things were looking a little bit worn and could do with replacing.Maybe a coat of paint here and there.

"Great location would stay again"

10.0

The property seemed bigger inside than photos showed, and was nice and warm whilst we were there. Bed was comfortable and lovely views from the windows. Great location, easy to walk to the Tissington trail and a short walk to Ashbourne. Nice walk down the river Dove just across the road.

"Great location for the price but could be cleaner and smell better."

6.0

Location was brilliant although difficult to initially find the cottage at night.

Cottage had a very odd smell. The bed was really uncomfortable and made so much noise. Shower was not great.

The cottage is in need of a deep clean. The bed around the mattress was filthy with dust, hair and cobwebs underneath. The same behind the bedside cabinets. The vinyl sofa in the lounge smelt like a regiment of overweight sweaty men had spent a few summers sitting on it and gently marinating the vinyl until it stunk of stale sweat. We had to disinfect the entire thing with spray. It still smelt bad afterwards. One for the local tip I would suggest.

"An excellent home for a short break walking and cycling"

8.0

The location is superb and excellent value for money. The Okeover Arms a five minute walk away was excellent (we went twice). Ashbourne is a short walk away. We walked to Dovedale. We cycled on the Tissington Trail. The property is perfect for two. There was nothing obvious missing. The house had hooks for coats, somewhere to put outdoor shoes and a tea pot which are some of things that annoy me when they are absent.

Everything was fine.
