FRANCE FOLD COTTAGE - Cosy 1 Bed Cottage Close to Holmfirth & the Peak District, Yorkshire

Cosy property ideal for our requirements.

The location was convenient, apart from the bells chiming at the nearby church every hour, even at 1 am, 2 am, 3 am, 4 am, 5 am, etc. and on the half-hour a single chime.

When we arrived, it was raining. Standing outside in the rain, we rang the host, Ben, who reluctantly (and rather grumpily) gave us the code for the lock box. We hadn't received the code at all, but he rather legalistically quoted the date and time he says the email was sent. (We still haven't received the email message.) The bells chimed at the nearby church every hour, even at 1 am, 2 am, 3 am, 4 am, 5 am, etc. and on the half-hour a single chime. The information provided at the venue said the nearest supermarket was in Meltham but we found a good supermarket in Honley itself - no need to travel to Meltham. There was also a longstanding leak somewhere in the bathroom that flooded the kitchen below. There was no good lighting above the dining table, making reading very difficult. Apart from the above, it was a very comfortable cottage.

Great cottage! Perfect for a comfy cozy stay in the countryside, the hosts stocked up the place with all the essentials you will need.

Could have been a little more accommodating on flexible checkin and check out as it’s a late check in and very early check out.

Everything was wonderful. Really enjoyed my stay! Will definitely visit this place again, in the future.

Quaint and had reasonable amenities.

When we arrived I had to empty dishwasher from previous guests. Also you have to strip the beds before you leave...it's only a one bed place! I found sweet wrappers lying around.

TV channels were poor

Cosy, clean comfortable cottage. Location close to shops and restaurants.

The tight parking space. I decided after the first to park elsewhere. The neighbour next door’s tv was rather loud, late into the night. I did not find the additional crockery until day 5. I thought it was a little strange that this was not to be found in the kitchen cupboards.
