"Nice but could be better."

The location was great, house new and lovely. You could hear the ocean. Unlike other reviews, the kitchen was equipped with some staples and the bathroom had soap/shampoo and bedrooms had bed linens/towels. The outdoor furniture was very comfortable and lovely to sit outside and enjoy the warm weather.

The place needed a good clean. There was hair all over the place in many colours, including pet hair and shaving stubble in the bathroom shelf. There were cobwebs and it had not been sprayed for cockroaches. The bed linen did not really fit properly and the mattress protector came off every night. The duvet had a hole and was stained. Another bedroom had a blood stain on the sheet. It just appeared that no one properly cleaned the property. The real estate agent was very prompt in their communication, however the cleaning company never contacted us. There were problems with the TV, dryer and toilet in the main bathroom. This could be an amazing place, but this really let it down, especially for the price.

"A great place to stay for a family or small group"

Layout of the house Large balcony with both table/ chairs plus casual seating. Nespresso machine Walk to beach and Golf Club Very comfortable beds Individual air conditioner in the bedrooms Just had a lovely feel about it.

Couldn’t get the TV in the living area to work. Also doesn’t appear to be normal free to air TV For the first 2 days the toilet in the en-suite wouldn’t stop flushing unless you juggled the cistern top several times. However, it appeared to correct itself in the end. The property was clean inside but the owners probably need to do a deep clean every so often to clear away the dead flies and spiders on the window sills behind the shutters and all the cobwebs outside especially on the kitchen window which you look at all the time. Some of the glasses which may not have been used for some time were a bit dirty or dusty. The kitchen was fully equipped except for a chux/ dish cloth/ sponge to wipe down the counters. These are relatively minor issues and overall the place was really good.

"We will be back, just not the through East Coast Getaways."

Absolutely beautiful house in a great location. We walked to the beach and the shops. The dogs had a lovely time too.

We got a call from East Coast Getaways on day 2 after we arrived, too noisy from playing of cards the night before, which is fine. The young person who made the call was quite condescending and accused us of having multiple P plate drivers at our location. My daughters boyfriend was our only P plate driver, and not really sure what that has got to do with our stay. I felt that phone call could have been dealt with better. We have been going to Hawks Nest for the last 12 years and have never had one issue till now.

Loved the location, short walk to Bennett’s Beach or shops. Beds super comfy and cosy. Great amenities, had every item and appliance you could need in the kitchen, lovely shower products. Air con was great for cold days.

It’s the little things… Kitchen lighting really grimy, windows need cleaning for flies, dust, spiders. Hand soap in kitchen, tissue box, body soap in ensuite shower all empty on arrival. Fireplace not easy to work, flames wouldn’t stay on and the fan blew cold air. Lawn needs a good weed.

It was easy to collect the keys.

There were spiders in the bedroom, Spider webs all over the patio, and outdoor settings were so dirty( stains on the outdoor bed), dust, and webs on the chairs. Owner/ East getaways need to put some detergent powder. Families with kids might need to use the laundry. Please do not be stingy on dishwashing tablets. The bathroom has no heating, and water tubs cannot be used during wintertime. Additional charges will be applied; for example, taking the garbage out for $40. BBQ clean $55.00. Addiitonal cleaning is $40 per hour. These charges should be displayed in the advertisement. Anyone who rents a place on Airbnb knows these rules and cleans as much as possible before departure. Do not send panicking emails to your customers. One more annoying thing was emailing the agent once you departed; the overall experience was worrisome, to be honest. Too many emails were sent out about the rules and cleanliness, but I guess the agent missed his own point on cleanliness and forgot to clean the outdoor area and spiders in the house himself :)
