We booked this property specifically because it advertised a sauna and hot tub, but the experience was extremely disappointing and unsafe. First, the check in time was delayed as the cleaner was still there for 2 hours. We were then asked to pay an extra €300 for three nights just to use the sauna and hot tub, which is completely unreasonable. The sauna does not work properly — the electrical circuit trips immediately when turned on, and it felt like an unsafe home electrical setup rather than a properly certified installation. At one point there was even smoke coming from the heater, which is a serious safety concern. The hot tub was not usable. The water was dirty, murky, and full of visible residue / sand / floating particles. When we contacted the host, we were told they would “just add a chlorine tablet,” which shows a lack of proper hot tub maintenance knowledge. We own a hot tub ourselves and proper maintenance requires correct filtration, balanced chemicals (pH/alkalinity), and regular water changes — this clearly hadn’t been done for a long time. Because of these issues, we informed Booking.com that we were leaving after one night as the key amenities we booked for were unsafe/unhygienic. Despite this, the host then incorrectly claimed a cancellation/no-show fee and our card was charged for the full stay. We are still trying to recover these costs through Booking.com/bank. To make things worse, the host was rude and accusatory when we raised legitimate safety and hygiene concerns. Avoid at all costs. Not recommended.
