Taste of Bali Hostel

Very disappointed with our stay here, the room was not clean and smelled extremely strongly of smoke. We tried everything to get rid of the smell but nothing helped. There was also damp on the walls and the curtains were mouldy. Would avoid staying here again in the future.

A fine location if you have a scooter. The room we booked was somewhat worn down but it was had more space than expected along with a desk and a closet for clothes. It was also nice that they had a communal kitchen and water refill along with a kettle so I could make for coffee in the morning. We extended and they switched us to a new room which was very nice with large glass sliding doors and a small terrace.

At the time we were there, they were constructing new sections to the hostel so there was a lot of noise and dust. The dust would blow under our door and our floor would get very dusty. This was the biggest issue during my stay but for future guests this wouldn't be an issue once they finish construction. The new room was very nice but I wished they had some place to hang towels. The terrace also probably needs railing installed at some point. But these are small gripes.

The bed itself is a redeeming feature, very comfortable and private with a curtain and locker at the end of the bed. There is a kettle, fridge, and gas hob to cook your own food

They are building a second floor to the hostel part so from 8am-4pm the place is a building site. Don't expect to be able to relax in your room in the day, all you hear is building work Showers could do with updating Guests were very loud outside the dorm until 2am, I would expect staff to ask them to be quiet during unsocial hours but they didn't From the photos it looks like there's nice places to relax but there aren't. The communal areas are tables and uncomfortable chairs, crawling with ants

I liked that the staff was cleaning my room anytime I would ask them to. They were all very nice and friendly, but unfortunately not so helpful...

Rooms are dark, there's almost no sunlight and no way to get fresh air inside. The shared kitchen is disgusting, and super dirty and there's practically no cutlery or plates or anything like that. They are also building a new floor and there are construction site sounds.

Friendly staff, but if you are solo backpacking and willing to meet new people, this place is not the best
